Read the sections below to learn how to promote your indie theater company and shows by posting compelling original content on indietheater.org. Reach the thousands of potential audience members who read indietheater.org every week by adding your show listings, blog posts, ticket discounts, video previews/trailers, and company website links. If you have questions about anything on this page, contact the editor.
Send listings info about your upcoming shows to listings@nytheatre.com. Guidelines are here. Your show will automatically be listed on both nytheatre.com and indietheater.org.
Put the latest news about your company or show on indietheater.org's home page! If you maintain a blog, you can register it with indietheater.org so that relevant posts automatically display on our home page. To register your blog, send an email. You only need to register one time. Once your registration has been confirmed, all you need to do is to tag relevant posts with the keyword indietheater and the posts will automatically appear for a few days on the indietheater home page. If you use Blogger or Blogspot, add the tag indietheater to your blog post. If you use WordPress, add the category indietheater to your blog post.
You should only tag blog posts that are of interest to indietheater.org's readers. This includes news about your theater company and news about upcoming and current shows that you are involved with. Do not tag blog posts that are not related to indie theater. Do not tag blog posts that are blatantly promotional. Readers will click on posts that are newsworthy and informative; they will stop looking at indietheater.com's blog feeds if the link points to uninteresting or unoriginal content.
Any current or upcoming indie theater production that has set up a discount coupon on nytheatre.com for ticket sales is automatically posted on indietheater.org's homepage. Click here to learn about settting up discount ticket coupons on nytheatre.com.
Post your YouTube video previews and trailers of current and upcoming indie theater productions in our Indie Media section. It's a completely automatic process! Simply add the tag indietheaternyc to your video when you post it on YouTube. It will automatically be picked up by our feed and displayed on the indietheater.org website within 24 hours.
Please only tag preview and trailer videos. Videos will remain posted for no longer than one week. Videos must be posted on YouTube.
If you want to have your company listed on the Indie Theater Company Listings on indietheater.org, please send an email to the editor at admin@indietheater.org. Your company will be listed along with a link to your website.
